In one of modern professional wrestling’s darkest days, AOL Time Warner officially cancelled World Championship Wrestling programming on TBS & TNT twenty-five years ago today.

To me, in the history of World Championship Wrestling, there was no one more underrated, underappreciated, and undervalued as Cactus Jack.

I have a tendency to do deep dives through the Internet Archive.

I remember being 15 years old and being uber-excited that World Championship Wrestling, after a few years of being on the decline, was about to be purchased by Fusient Media Ventures.

As a guy who lives in the Metropolitan area, it’s pretty impossible to avoid the impending New York City Mayoral Race.

Here on The Big Bang May 6, I sometimes like to take a differing opinion to topics that the majority of wrestling fans, especially during World Championship Wrestling’s heyday, would not agree with. In fact, I believe that, even with newer wrestling fanatics, they would also disagree with this one. So, I will be the lone stalwart making this statement:

The date was December 30, 1996. The final Monday Nitro of the year.

You made your debut during a ticker-tape parade at Disney MGM Studios in Orlando, FL on June 11, 1994 and signed your WCW contract, preparing to start a new wave of HULKAMANIA.

Even though this happened over 27 years ago, I remember it as vividly as any childhood memories.

25 years ago, on July 9, 2000 in Daytona Beach, FL  at Bash at the Beach 2000, one of the greatest “shoot” promos of all time took place. 

Over the years, I have heard countless wrestling personalities, either on camera or during interviews, complain about one WCW character. A character that never seemed to take off and was pure "WrestleCrap".

When you think of Macho Man Randy Savage in the world of professional wrestling, you mainly revisit his work in the World Wrestling Federation, especially his WrestleMania III match with Ricky “the Dragon” Steamboat for the Intercontinental Championship, winning two WWF Championships, his “Match Made In Heaven” with Miss Elizabeth at SummerSlam 1991, and his stellar color commentary during his early days with Monday Night Raw.
